Husk reworked

So for my Avanced Drawing for Illustration class this quarter, we were each assigned three X-Men characters and told to redesign them, environments, vehicles, and objects for the storyline the teacher provided. This is my redesign of Husk. Since in almost all of her incarnations Paige Guthrie looks like a completely different person, I was given pretty much a free range in which to approach her character. Eventually I decided on this <3 Her storyline's complicated and full of incest and love so I won't go into too much detail, but anyway. Husk. Husking.

Pencil and then microns.

Has someone else figured out a way to scan in clean linework without it coming out with the paper all splotchy and grey? It's a pain to have to go in and try to clean it out and I missed loads.
